Robert Half as partnered with a multinational FTSE 250 business to recruit for a Pension Specialist. In this role you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the effective delivery of our Pension Policy and strategy. Your responsibilities will encompass providing support, guidance, and expertise to ensure seamless coordination between various departments, compliance with SLAs, and alignment with our Pensions Roadmap. Additionally, you will contribute to the management of complex pension solutions for new business ventures, participate in key pension sub-committees, and oversee the management of Death in Service benefits for our employees. For the right candidate this role offers:

Salary of up to £40,000 + hybrid flexible schedule (1-2 days a week in the office)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between the People Service teams and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the delivery of pension policy in accordance with SLAs and our Pensions Roadmap.
  • Provide expert support for complex pension solutions related to new business ventures, including but not limited to Railways, LGPS, NHS, Civil Service pension schemes, and others.
  • Participate actively in pertinent pension sub-committees, offering insights and expertise as needed.
  • Manage Death in Service benefits for employees within the organisation.
  • Offer subject matter expertise to People Services teams, PSPs, and HRDs, addressing complex queries and changes, and consulting specialists when necessary.
  • Drive operational improvements by identifying enhancements, supporting changes, and fostering greater awareness of Pensions within the organisation.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a specialist pension role, demonstrating a strong understanding of pension policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Auto Enrolment regulations and practices.
  • Ideally, experience dealing with the Government Actuary's Department and public sector pension schemes such as PCSPS, Railways, NHSPS, etc., particularly in the context of bidding and transfers.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships internally and externally across all levels.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a small, cohesive team environment.
