Patent Secretary
We’re currently on the lookout for a dynamic and skilled Patent Secretary to join the team of one of our prestigious clients, a leading intellectual property (IP) firm renowned for its innovation and excellence in the field. This is a fantastic chance for someone with a passion for IP law and a desire to contribute to the success of inventors and creators worldwide.
As a Patent Secretary, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the firm's patent attorneys. Your expertise will be essential in managing the intricacies of patent documentation, filing processes, and client communication. This position requires a keen eye for detail, exceptional organisational skills, and a thorough understanding of patent law procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing, filing, and managing patent applications and correspondence with clients and patent offices
- Scheduling and managing the calendars of patent attorneys, ensuring all deadlines are met efficiently
- Maintaining accurate records and databases for all patent-related documentation
- Assisting in the preparation of reports and presentations for clients
- Managing billing and invoicing related to patent applications and other services
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience as a Patent Secretary, preferably within an IP firm or legal department
- Experience with Inprotech is advantageous
- A solid understanding of patent filing procedures and intellectual property law
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with legal management software
- A proactive, team-oriented approach, with a high level of professional integrity
- Good academic qualifications
