Pastoral Support Mentor

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a confident and proactive Pastoral Support Mentor to join this secondary school in Haringey. This is a full time, long-term role starting ASAP for the full academic year and upon review there will be an opportunity to go permanent.

As a Pastoral Support Mentor you will be responsible for the below:

• Managing behaviour and following the schools behaviour policy
• Supporting students in class, small groups and on a 1:1 basis
• Encouraging and promoting student engagement in learning activities
• Contributing to support plans and strategies to meet the needs of each student
• Collaborating with staff, parents/carers, and outside agencies
• Monitoring and recording student progress and achievements

To join us and be successful in this role you will need:

• Previous experience working with children who have SEMH needs
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Patience and resilience
• An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
• CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
• Legal right to work in the UK
