Our client based in South Tyneside have an exciting opportunity for an experienced PAS Technical Inspector to join their expanding team on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will be competent in 1 or more of the following areas: Insulation, Gas, Electric or Glazing.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To verify Retrofit Designs prior to attending an On-Site Technical Inspection.
  • To carry out external Technical Inspections onsite in line with PAS 2030:2019.
  • Write up detailed technical reports that are easy to understand.
  • Identify any areas of non-conformities and provide details in technical inspection reports.
  • Confirm that completed non-conformances meet the audit criteria.
  • Answer client enquiries regarding any inspection reports.
  • To offer guidance to multiple businesses across the eco industry within UKAS guidelines.
  • Carrying out Head Office Assessments (looking at our clients QMS (Quality Management System).
  • Interviewing other Technical Inspectors.
  • Providing training on the companies audit reporting system to other Technical Inspectors.
  • Conducting observations and supporting newly appointed Technical Inspectors in the same role.

Qualifications:

It would be desirable for a PAS Technical Inspector to hold the following qualifications:

  • PAS 2030 Awareness Course.
  • GDA or DEA or Equivalent Course (Retrofit Assessor).
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor.
  • Relevant NVQ/Qualifications for each applicable measure.
  • A Health and Safety Qualification (e.g. IOSH or NEBOSH).
  • Health and Safety Certificates Relevant to Each Measure (Manual Handling, Confined Spaces, Fire Awareness, Working at Heights, Gas Safe, Asbestos Awareness).
  • Level 2 NVQ in Insulation & Building Treatments with relevant pathway.
  • Level 2 NVQ in Fenestration.
  • ACS Certificate for Gas installations and Gas Safe card in installation company name.
  • Electrical Installation certificate, 18th Edition certificate, registered/carded for domestic electrical work.
  • A1 Assessor.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

It would be desirable for the PAS Technical Inspector hold the following experience, knowledge, skills and competencies:

  • Two years’ experience within Eco Industry.
  • Two years’ experience inspecting, assessing or technical monitoring (ideally to PAS 2030).
  • Relevant experience of installation of insulation, heating or electric measures.
  • Experience of carrying out full domestic properties’ assessments.
  • Experience in developing and verifying risk assessments and method statements.
  • Experience in writing and understanding installation documentation.
  • Ability to develop working relationships with wide range of people.
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Use of initiative to deal with enquiries and or problems.
  • Ability to follow procedures and relevant audit trails.
  • Courteous, positive disposition.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied and complex workload.
  • Flexible approach to working environment and a supportive team member.
  • Problem solving and decision-making ability.

Please note this a remote role which requires working away from home Monday - Friday.
