Paralegal - Planning
An opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join one of the most progressive, dynamic and forward-thinking law firms in Exeter, working as part of the Planning team within the firm's successful Real Estate department. The work will be extremely interesting and will give someone the opportunity to learn within a supportive and experienced team. In time, you would get the chance to run your own files and take on genuine responsibility, with the support of the team around you. The ideal candidate will have had some experience of working within a law firm already, possibly within Commercial Property or even Planning. However, we are also looking at graduate level candidates who have a genuine interest in these areas of work.
Tasks include:
- Working as a Paralegal within the Planning Team dealing with varied and interesting workload
- Dealing with new client enquiries
- Coordinating new matters in an efficient and timely manner
- Assisting the team with all aspects of Planning work, including planning permission, appeals, CIL, s106 agreements, infrastructure agreements, judicial review, highways and public rights of way and environmental law and other tasks as directed by the team leader.
Skills and experience required:
- Property or Planning experience is desirable
- Any paralegal or legal secretary experience will be an advantage
- Self-motivated and organised
- Excellent communication skills
- Good time-management skills
- Excellent IT skills, including use of the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PDFs)
