Paralegal Mandarin or Cantonese
This is a fantastic opportunity for Chinese speaking junior paralegal professional to build solid legal work experience before becoming qualified. The client is a well-established UK law firm, looking to expand their APAC desk. You will not only serve their existing Chinese clients but also British clients. The idea candidate will have some UK work experience, specifically on real estate-related legal matters.
Title: Mandarin/Cantonese: paralegal
Salary: £28K - £30K (depending on experience)
Location: Central London (fully onsite during probation, then hybrid 2 days onsite 3 days wfh)
Languages: fluent English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)
Contract: Permanent full time
Visa requirement: PSW visa holders are welcome. However, you'll need to have at least 1 year left on your current visa to be considered.
Role in a nutshell: You will be assisting the lawyers with preparing real estate documents and contracts, reviewing purchase offers and liaising with clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessing and preparing contracts, lease agreements, and closing and lending documents
- Conducting research and distributing real estate documents
- Analysing title documents and legal descriptions of property
- Answering client questions and escalating serious concerns
- Keeping clients informed of progress made with real estate and lending applications
- Submitting accurate legal documents in a timely manner
Requirements
- Fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)
- Graduated with a law degree is a MUST
- UK work experience in an office environment is a MUST
- Previous experience in UK residential and new build property
- Good working knowledge of real estate documents, contracts, applications and submissions
- At least one year left on your current visa before it expires
