Operational Technology Support Engineer
Our client, a leading engineering and maintenance provider, is seeking an Operational Technology Support Engineer to join their team. With a focus on enhancing the efficiency of assets and reducing maintenance costs, our client supports customers across various sectors, including automation, energy, manufacturing, and more. As an Operational Technology Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support and assistance for operational technology applications, ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users across UK-wide operational sites regarding operational technology applications, including MS Azure Applications, MS SQL, PowerBI, and low code platforms.
  • Analyse user requirements, troubleshoot issues, and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and optimal performance of operational technology applications.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation to facilitate user understanding and self-help resources.
  • Work proactively with operational teams to facilitate upskilling and support citizen development capability.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for users with limited technical experience.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of operational technology applications, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate enhancements.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and advancements in applicable technology platforms, sharing knowledge and insights with the team.
  • Serve as a liaison between end-users, technical development team, and digital leadership team.
  • Present and demonstrate digital solutions to internal stakeholders and customers.


Experience & Qualifications:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proven experience working with technology and the ability to translate the application of technology to real-life problems.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to think critically and propose effective solutions to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Willingness to embrace change, learn new technologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience within an operational/engineering environment is desirable.
  • Training & facilitation skills.


Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Experience in providing technical support and troubleshooting for operational technology applications.
  • A Degree or HND/HNC in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant discipline.
  • Mobile Applications (Low Code Platforms)
  • MS SQL Database (On-Prem / Cloud-Based)
  • Dashboard Reporting Technology (e.g. PowerBI)
