Soufflet Malt have been at the Burton site since 2015 and operate 2 process lines producing in excess of 126,000 tonnes of quality malt into the brewing industry. The Burton site is part of the InVivo group which has 39 malting plants across the world.

 The Role:

Reporting to the management team, the roles of the two newly created Operations Shift Supervisor positions is to ensure the safe, efficient running of the Soufflet Malt plant in Burton. Together these roles will take responsibility for the day to day running of shifts, the roles will be required to communicate KPI's on a daily basis, to prioritize and distribute the workload of operators and engineers on shift, maintain quality standards for the product, to maintain hygiene standards and remain audit ready at all times.

 The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience for supervising H&S requirements (including IOSH), and ensuring compliance at all times
  • Maintain a high standard of hygiene for the site
  • Have good problem solving skills and the ability to react to unplanned incidents calmly but effectively
  • Be able to manage the workload of their team and ensure the needs of the business are met
  • Have good communication and people management skills
  • Have experience managing and leading teams, including managing their development, undertaking supervisions and appraisals, and day to day management tasks
  • Have experience within all areas of the malting functions, including steeping, germination and kilning
  • Be confidently able to undertake silo operations including supervision of movements, sampling, and pesticide spraying
  • Have excellent attention to detail and record keeping standards
  • Although not essential, the ideal candidate would also have;
    • Confined space training
    • Grain management experience
    • Engineering experience
    • Lean manufacturing experience

Working hours:

  • 42 hours per week average, over a 12 hour 4 on 4 off working pattern of days only (no night shifts)
