Description

UBT Recruitment are working with a well-established family-run SME based in Stoke-on-Trent. They are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join the dynamic team. As an Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimising the day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and overall business success. To be successful in this role you will need to be effective in rapidly scaling their Operations due to high growth.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and vision for operations, aligning it with the company's objectives.
  • Manage team of 9+ production operatives plus production supervisor, including ongoing recruitment.
  • Manage and coordinate daily operational activities across various departments, ensuring processes run efficiently and meet quality standards.
  • Identify operational challenges and develop effective solutions to enhance processes and improve overall performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five A* - C grades at GSCE (or grade 9-4 equivalents)
  • Outstanding people management skills - ability to inspire and drive performance in staff
  • Experience in managing a production facility
  • Understands Lean operations, and how to scale
  • Has qualifications in Lean/TPS/Six Sigma or similar
  • Experienced in rapid growth or organisations, whilst driving efficiency and improving service levels
