Office Manager

We are looking for a highly organised and efficient Office Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the administrative functions of the school, supporting the Headteacher, and ensuring smooth operation of the school’s office. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to handle confidential information, and a proactive approach to managing a busy workload.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Manage and coordinate the Headteacher’s diary and organise meetings.
  • Type up and distribute minutes of meetings and communicate important information to staff.
  • Draft memorandums, letters, and reports for the Headteacher’s approval.
  • Maintain and nurture business partnerships and relationships with the school community.
  • Assist in keeping school documentation, such as SIP and SEF evidence files, up-to-date.
  • Oversee staff and pupil attendance records, ensuring compliance and timely communication.
  • Handle HR and recruitment processes, including advertising vacancies, arranging interviews, and maintaining staff records.
  • Coordinate staff training and professional development, ensuring certifications are up-to-date.
  • Manage part-time staff schedules and communicate changes effectively.
  • Oversee the school’s ICT needs and liaise with service providers to resolve issues.
  • Support the Headteacher with project work, including preparations for inspections and school improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a high standard of office management, ensuring all administrative tasks are completed efficiently.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in an office management role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficient in using office software and ICT systems.
  • Experience in HR and recruitment processes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.
