Our Client:

This client is an 80-place day nursery based in Leicestershire. Our client provides high-quality education and care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. The environment at the nursery has a variety of resources to encourage curiosity, awe, and wonder. Allowing children to flow from one another, which encourages open-ended play and a sense of ownership and responsibility within the students.

The role:

We are looking for an experienced cook who has worked in a similar setting cooking for children. The right candidate must have up-to-date knowledge of all allergens and has experience maintaining due diligence and safety reports within a catering environment.

Duties include:

• Communicate with the Nursery Manager/Assistant Manager on a regular basis to establish the operational details and manage the day-to-day production and service of meals
• Work with the other nursery staff to ensure that all the requirements of the children in our care are met
• Ensure all service is consistent and in line with expectations
• Make sure each day is planned accordingly to ensure all targets are met
• Act decisively ensuring key decisions are made within the correct time frame

What you need:

• An original copy of your Enhanced DBS certificate - current/in date
• Experience working in a small-media sized kitchen environment
• Full knowledge of all allergens and dietary requirements
• Available Monday - Friday at the required times
• Can communicate well with others
• Able to maintain a high standard of food safety at all times
