£45,000 to £55,000 Per annum + 15% Bonus + Pension + Life Insurance and Holiday.
Located in St Albans - Site based 5 Days per week.

The Organisation
An exciting FMCG challenger experiencing unprecedented growth, seeking an organised, ambitious, and commercially astute NPD Project Manager to join their high performing team.

The Role
This role aims to lead the internal effort to effectively deliver new product innovations and product/packaging change projects. Reporting to the COO and working closely with our clients' Product, Commercial, Marketing & R&D teams, you will be responsible for managing new product development/commercialization projects and leading a team of development chemists. This is a pivotal role that ensures speed and innovation remain core competencies, and that the team is kept focused, energized, and on track to meet the objectives of our client’s project portfolio

Key duties will include:
  • Lead, coach and mentor the development team (3 people)
  • Lead the project lifecycle activities from project initiation to project closure.
  • Keep the internal stakeholders informed of progress, highlight risks, and escalate issues.
  • Develop root cause and corrective actions of recurring product, process, and service issues.
  • Lead project team meetings and other methods of communication- always demonstrating strong meeting management and facilitation skills to champion quality outputs.
  • Maintain project data, which supports the progression of the projects.
  • Ensure that the commercialisation process and accountabilities are well understood within the functions and that the organisation is aligned to deliver executional excellence.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the process and lead their implementation.

The Candidate:
  • Degree, Masters or PHD within Chemistry/Chemical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 2 years of new product development experience specifically related to NPD/Pack/Product Change.
  • Personal care or household product development is essential.
  • Exposure or strong interest in green chemistry/sustainability.
  • A Prince 2 or related project management qualification would be beneficial.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with bias for action, ability to multi-task, be resourceful and adaptable.
  • Critical thinking skills and proven business acumen.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence at all management levels.
