A successful automotive business is seeking an MOT Tester to join the business in the Poole area. Offering a variety of services to the customers relating to vehicle repair and hiring, across many different service lines, this business has been highly successful within their market in recent years.

As an MOT Tester, the position holder will be responsible for undertaking daily MOTs on a variety of vehicles and will be expected to be a hub of knowledge for any related issues. Alongside this main duty, the position holder will be conducting minor repairs on vehicles when it is needed and providing additional support to the team as needed.

Role & Responsibilities

While in this position your duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Undertaking MOT Tests on a daily basis on various vehicles, ensuring these are done in line with government regulations
  • Conducting detailed and exhaustive inspections of vehicle components and systems, with the aim of making sure these meet safety standards
  • Proactively and accurately identifying any defects or issues and documenting these in accordance with company policy
  • Providing reports with recommendations to the workshop for any additional work that is needed on vehicles and ensuring this work can be carried out
  • Supporting on minor repairs for vehicles as it is needed
  • Ensuring the workspace meets safety expectations at all times, that the area is kept in good standing and that all documentation is completed and is accurate and up to date

What You Will Need To Apply:
Applicants must be a fully certified MOT Tester to be considered for this role and possess good experience within a comparable role where MOT work has been conducted to regulations regularly. Any additional experience of the service and repair of motor vehicles would be beneficial, particularly within a workshop environment. Applicants will need to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and be able to highlight key customer needs and expectations to ensure the service meets these. 

A full UK driving license is necessary for this role.

What You Will Get In Return:
For the successful candidate, an excellent starting salary of up to £33,000 will be on offer, depending on previous MOT experience.
