Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Mechanical Manager to join our team in Stoke-on-Trent on a permanent basis. This full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week and comes with an attractive package including competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus, and comprehensive benefits.

Mechanical Manager Role Summary:

As the Mechanical Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance of engineers and sub-contractors, ensuring compliance with industry standards within the contract. Your role will involve providing guidance and support to both client and engineering teams to ensure efficient customer service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize engineering staff on a day-to-day basis to meet contractual agreements.
  • Assist in preparing emergency and contingency plans.
  • Maintain records related to the PPM schedule to ensure statutory compliance of the estate.
  • Oversee all contract activities, including maintenance, reactive work, and projects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Provide supervision and cover for staff during peak workloads, holidays, and sickness absences.
  • Foster effective communication with clients to build stable relationships and address their needs proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with preventative maintenance schedules and environmental regulations.
  • Manage out-of-hours cover for Stoke Schools in accordance with the roster.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, site visits, van checks, audits, and site safety inspections.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Utilize knowledge of Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with CAFM (Maximo) systems.
  • Be available for flexible working hours and respond effectively to pressure situations.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Time served (C&G) Mechanical qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of building Fabric
  • Experience with Health & Safety in occupied premises
  • Excellent communication skills
  • IOSH certification
  • IPAF / PASMA Qualification (desirable)
  • Good IT skills
