About the role
A multi-site business pioneering the way for UK processing of animal by-products and food waste. Since their establishment 52 years ago, they have been at the forefront of implementing eco-conscious methods. As a mechanical engineer, you would have the opportunity to work on innovative projects aimed at developing more efficient and sustainable methods for waste processing and recycling.You'd also be working as part of a seasoned and diverse team of engineeers to ensure that all equipment, plant, building and infrastructure are maintained.

What's the shift?
  • Days
  • 7:00- 16:30 (17:00 finish on Monday)
  • 48 Hours per week
  • 1 in 4 weekends (open to adjustment)

What would your day look like?
  • Collaborating closely with production to optimise the use of site assets
  • Ensuring existing site equipment operates at peak efficiency to maximise benefits
  • Contributing to the exploration of new manufacturing techniques
  • Taking initiative in enhancing energy and utilities efficiency to achieve cost savings, while also meeting production demands
  • Engaging in cross-functional teamwork to maintain a consistent and adaptable approach to ongoing improvement Ensuring all tasks are carried out in accordance with safety protocols
  • Following the planned preventive maintenance (PPM) system diligently and punctually
  • Fulfilling all necessary statutory documentation requirements.

What are we looking for?
  • Preferably apprentice-trained (at least Level 3) or significant proficient, practical engineering abilities.
  • Sound grasp of health and safety regulations.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Experience in manufacturing or process operations, demonstrating proficiency in planned preventive maintenance (PPM) execution.
  • Possess keen attention to detail and adeptness at working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Able to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Skilled in fault finding and breakdown diagnosis.
  • Willingness to pursue additional personal development supported by the company
