We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on concept design for a range of fabricated & moulded products for the European Market.

You will have the opportunity to join a company who are the market leader in their field, work on fast paced projects and take a lead on solving engineering problems to reach a design solution.

The role of Mechanical Design Engineer will be to use CAD to produce component and assembly models and associated engineering drawings whilst also being involved in related production processes.

A hands-on approach and can-do attitude are essential, as is the ability to liaise and co-ordinate with both customers & suppliers.

As Mechanical Design Engineer - you will be required to

• Develop 3D models and drawings on CAD necessary for the conceptualization, validation and manufacture of products
• Ensure product designs perform as intended, are reliable, and are safe for manufacturing and the end user
• Support design reviews within the business
• Work with engineering teams to satisfy the needs of the customer in the development of new and current products
• Provide engineering and technical assistance to both internal and external customers

As Mechanical Design Engineer you will have

• Degree qualified or equivalent with relevant experience in a product design or engineering role
• Design experience with fabricated parts & assemblies and their associated joining methods
• Proven knowledge of using CAD in an engineering design role, ideally with SolidWorks
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels
• Possess knowledge of working with a range of engineering materials including sheet metal and plastic mouldings and their manufacturing processes
