This great opportunity will allow you to play a key role in translating design requirements into user instructions and coordinating support for our manufacturing facility!

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Salary: Circa £38,000 to £41,000 depending on experience 

Location: Bolton (we may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: typically, 4 days per week on-site, due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

As part of our ambitious development plans, you will have the chance to grow your knowledge within manufacturing and contribute to exciting work packages such as Industrial Validation, manufacturing architecture, and factory of the future principles.

  • Support existing manufacturing lines and new product introduction

  • Assist in the industrial validation process through FMEA's and process proving activities

  • Manage configuration control and document design modifications

  • Support the Non-Conformance Process

  • Ensure products are produced in the most efficient manner

  • Implement safe operating procedures for changed processes, including liaison with COSHH assessors etc.

  • Collaborate with the design authority during the product prototype/development phase

  • Compile and update Manufacturing Instructions and maintain production BOMs

  • Develop and control tooling

  • Take ownership of manufacturing engineering processes and equipment

  • Make improvements to production and develop new skills

  • Engage in technically challenging, varied, and rewarding work

What we're looking for from you:

  • Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21

  • Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject OR BEng in a relevant Engineering degree.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a dedication to meeting project deadlines

  • Ability to interpret Design Drawings and produce Manufacturing Build Instructions

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with an awareness of digital communication platforms
