An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a luxury sporting business in the heart of Manchester City Centre. This role offers a competitive salary between £45,000 - £50,000 (plus bonus), and is perfect for someone who is recently qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with experience of working within Finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for elements of Management Reporting of Financial Information at period end, including sole ownership of property accounting.

What you'll do:

As a Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our client's finance department. You will take ownership of property accounting and be responsible for Management Reporting of Financial Information at period end. Your ability to liaise effectively with other departments will be crucial in understanding monthly variances from Budget/Forecast. Your expertise will allow you to develop financial models and forecasts that drive strategic decision making. You will also have the opportunity to implement best practices across finance department processes, develop finance policies, ensure compliance and run your own finance projects.

  • Responsible for elements of Management Reporting of Financial Information at period end, including sole ownership of property accounting
  • Responsible for Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Liaise with other departments to understand monthly variances from Budget/Forecast
  • Develop financial models and forecasts
  • Implementing best practice across finance department processes - ensuring those processes are streamlined, scalable, accurate and documented clearly to be digested by other stakeholders
  • Developing finance policies, internal controls and ensuring compliance
  • Creating, and running your own finance projects to bring innovation and positive change
  • Using your ideas and experience to transition the function into a proactive operation
  • Liaise with External Auditors and assist in the annual audit process

What you bring:

The ideal Management Accountant will be recently qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with experience of working within Finance. You will have an all-round technical accounting knowledge and the ability to 'tell the story driving the numbers'. Your good grasp of IT systems, including a variety of accounting platforms, and excellent Excel knowledge will be essential in this role. Your teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to liaise effectively with other departments and stakeholders. Attention to detail, self-motivation, organisation skills and an excellent work ethic are key qualities our client are looking for.

  • Recently qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with experience of working within Finance
