Management Accountant

• Annual Salary: £40k - £45k
• Location: Hybrid working arrangement
• Job Type: Fixed-term contract (6 months minimum), Immediate start

We are seeking a Management Accountant with expertise in QuickBooks and a strong understanding of Excel. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with VAT and ready to contribute to our financial team with an immediate start.

• Prepare and examine financial records, ensuring records are accurate and that taxes are paid properly and on time.
• Analyse business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses.
• Report the company’s finances to management, and offer suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
• Implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems.
• Develop, maintain, and analyse budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
• Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.
• Maintain or examine the records of government agencies.
• Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies, and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts.

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks is essential.
• Clear understanding and practical experience with Excel.
• Familiarity with VAT and other tax-related processes.
• Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting.
• Professional qualification such as CIMA or ACCA is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
