Our client is a well-established B2C services provider with a genuinely unique offer for their target market. The business is a privately owned regulated financial services provider, offering a highly tailored service to consumers planning to achieve their long-term financial goals. Based in Teesside, the close-knit team of c50 colleagues together deliver great outcomes for their customers via their own branded, high touch, service-oriented process. With the business seeking to develop further opportunities in its’ successful core B2C business, growth has been targeted via exciting plans to with their innovative B2B service offering within the Financial Services market also.

The business now requires a Management Accountant to join the Finance team and play an important role in the growth of the business. Reporting in to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in the preparation of the monthly management accounts for the business as well as taking responsibility for other core departmental tasks, e.g. VAT returns, bank reconciliations, budgets & forecasting etc.

You will be an ambitious Management Accountant looking to work within a close-knit, values-led SME. Possibly qualified and looking for your next role, or part-qualified and looking to complete your training in a more responsible role, you will be able to demonstrate relevant accounting experience in your career to date. Sector experience is not essential, more important is your ability to develop your skills and play an important role in helping to deliver the company’s growth objectives. Job Title: Management Accountant

Reports to: Head of Finance

Key Deliverables:

  • As a key member of the Finance team, help deliver all core financial reports and management information
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including BS, P&L, Consolidation etc
  • Manage banking systems, processes, queries & reconciliations etc
  • Prepare VAT returns, Cashflow forecasts, Corporation Tax calculations etc
  • Assist in preparation of final annual accounts and returns, inc. Companies House submissions
  • Prepare, maintain & run budget forecasting exercises as required by senior management
  • Provide financial data for business case submissions and business improvement projects

Location: North-East England

Candidate profile:

  • Ambitious and able Finance professional, seeking a wide-ranging role in a growing business
  • Commercial experience ideally but not essentially including services businesses and/or SME’s
  • Genuinely collaborative and engaging, able to deliver accurate and timely MI & reports
  • Broad experience across in all core finance department functions would be helpful
  • Genuine team player, engaging and collaborative, works well with internal & external partners
  • Min. AAT level 4 qualified, progressing towards full qualification (or ACA / CIMA / ACCA qualified)
  • A track record of practical achievement in your career to date
