Planned Maintenance Officer

  • Salary: £39,072.00
  • Location: Edinburgh
  • Job Type: Full-time (Temp/Perm)
  • Hours: 35 hours per week, Mon – Fri: 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Reed Recruitment is proud to represent our esteemed client in their search for a dedicated Planned Maintenance Officer. This pivotal role contributes to the delivery of an exceptional maintenance service, offering quality control and technical support for all planned repairs, maintenance, and stock improvement works. The successful candidate will ensure that the organisation’s assets are maintained and developed in line with agreed business plans, objectives, and standards, working collaboratively with the Reactive Maintenance Officer and intersecting with housing management and finance.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Design and implement planned investment and cyclical maintenance programmes that effectively manage housing assets, align with tenants’ priorities, and comply with standards such as SHQS and EESSH.
  • Utilise the Integrated Housing Management System for accurate record-keeping of maintenance information.
  • Engage in daily liaison with the Reactive Maintenance Officer and ensure the maintenance management database is effectively maintained.
  • Provide asset information statistical returns and manage budgets with variance reporting.
  • Develop control systems to meet CDM obligations and foster partnership working to improve performance and service consistency.
  • Monitor contractor performance, ensuring works orders comply with delegated authority.
  • Oversee the Gas Contract for the organisation and lead the procurement process for all contracts.
  • Adhere to and enforce Health and Safety guidelines and fire regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Essential experience as a Planned Maintenance Officer.
  • Desirable experience with a maintenance management database.
  • Desirable understanding of the regulatory and legal requirements for Scottish social housing tenants.
  • Desirable knowledge of SHQS and EESSH2 with a track record of achieving results.
  • Essential experience in commissioning Stock Condition Surveys for planning purposes.
  • Desirable knowledge of Health & Safety legislation relevant to housing repairs and maintenance.
  • Essential strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects within budget and timelines.
  • Desirable computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office and housing repairs and maintenance software.
