Machine Operator / Production Operative who has experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing / production environment, operating and running machinery with excellent communication and team working skills is required for a well-established manufacturing company based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire.

SALARY: Starting at £31,000 per annum + Regular Pay Reviews + Benefits and Career Progression

LOCATION: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire (MK10)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Days / Nights - 12 Hour Shifts working 4 On 4 Off

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Machine Operator / Production Operativewho has experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing / production environment, operating and running machinery with excellent communication and team working skills.

As a Machine Operator / Production Operative you will help ensure that the moulding machines run to the specification established by the Technician Department and that the containers are produced to the customers agreed specification. Focus is also paid to minimising downtime and scrap levels.

Working as a Machine Operator / Production Operative you will join the Machine Technician Team at the company’s Milton Keynes site

DUTIES

Your duties as a Machine Operator / Production Operative will include:

  • Ensure that moulding machines and ancillary equipment are in good running order. Reporting any defects to supervisor and carrying out any remedial work as instructed
  • Ensure that product arriving at the packing station is to an acceptable quality standard - This involves regular checks on the quality of production, both for visual faults and weight, filling in correctly all relevant paperwork
  • Remove, clean, refit, realign or carry out other necessary adjustments to parts of moulding machines which are within the level of competence of the technician including work on heads, tooling, blowpins, blades, and ancillary equipment
  • Ensure that raw material supplies are constant by changing over bins. Reporting to supervisor if a fresh bin in usable condition is not available by the machine before a problem is created on the machine
  • Ensure that the moulding machines, ancillary equipment and the immediate work area are maintained to a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness at all times

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing / production environment (Plastics exposure would be a distinct advantage)
  • Previous experience of operating / running machinery - training provided on specific machinery
  • Mechanical aptitude advantageous
