About the role:

Due to internal progression and an exciting period of change, we have an opportunity for a commercial lawyer to join our NFU Mutual Legal team, where your expertise and leadership will drive success, and contribute to our continued growth and excellence.

Our hands-on Legal team manage commercial matters right across NFU Mutual. With a proactive approach to their work, they truly partner our internal client base, drive efficiencies, and add real commercial value.

As a Legal Counsel, you’ll play a pivotal role in leading the Legal team to provide advice and support to our organisation on a wide range of legal matters. Collaborating with senior internal stakeholders, you’ll identify and mitigate legal risks, ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and support strategic business initiatives. With a clear focus on the draft, review and negotiation of a wide range of commercial contracts, you’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in complex, high value projects.

This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon. However, we understand how important a positive work-life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 60% of your hours from home.??

About you:

A qualified Solicitor, you have excellent corporate/commercial background, ideally from a leading national firm. Technically excellent, you have a proven background in drafting and negotiating a variety of documentations which include service agreements, facilities management contracts, software licenses, sponsorship agreements, proof of concept and consultancy agreements.

A resilient and confident person, you effortlessly work with a variety of stakeholders and project teams to deliver timely legal advice to the business.

To join our team, you’ll also have:

  • Experience of managing competing demands
  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations at all levels
  • Proven ability to establish a high degree of trust and respect
  • A great eye for detail and ability to take a pragmatic approach to negotiations

Experience of working in a regulated environment is desirable but not essential.
