My client is seeking a dedicated Legal Cashier to join their esteemed legal firm, which has been providing comprehensive legal services for over 150 years. This role is integral to our accounts department, focusing on all aspects of accounts administration and legal cashiering, particularly within our Real Estates and Projects Department.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Produce bespoke matter balance reports for fee earners to review in meetings.
  • Handle Residual Balance administration and provide general financial assistance for the department.
  • Organise regular meetings with fee earners to discuss and action tasks related to matter balances.
  • Provide monthly reports on meetings and matter balances to the department’s Executive Partners.
  • Archive matters with zero balances and report on Residual Balances and zero matter balances to other departments.
  • Reconcile client matters for both office and client ledgers.
  • Manage office and client account banking and processing.
  • Process client and office account payments via BACS/CHAPS.
  • Archive matters and arrange BACS payments for matters incurring quarterly interest.
  • Update case management systems with Residual Balances notes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A-C or equivalent, including grade B in English Language, Literature & Maths.
  • At least 12 months of experience within a legal accounts working environment.
  • Experience with residual balance reconciliation and commercial conveyancing accounting is advantageous.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to produce consistently high-standard work.
  • Good computer skills, competent in Excel and Word.
  • Excellent time management skills with a flexible approach to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A willingness to excel within an accounts environment and a keenness to learn.

Please note role is pretty much fully remote bar the odd day in the office.
