Worthing, West Sussex

Our well established client is looking for a Legal Cashier to be based at their Worthing office

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Checking completion statements arithmetically and for completeness
  • Advising fee earners when funds received
  • Setting up online payments via our bank
  • Internal transfers between clients as requested.
  • Checking and posting of bills
  • Cost transfers once bills paid/matters completed.
  • Dealing with general ad-hoc queries from fee earners
  • Taking debit/credit card payments from clients and posting them
  • Filing all paperwork relating to conveyancing transactions
  • Investigating and advising fee earners regarding balances left on ledgers.
  • Reporting accounts rule breaches to Practice Accountant
  • Covering for other legal cashiers during absences

Other accounts office tasks as required including land registry postings, end of day card machine report and banking.

Requirements for the role

  • Basics of Bookkeeping
  • Previous experience in a law firm.
  • Communication Skills
  • Eye for detail
  • Accountancy qualification would be desirable
  • Professional telephone Manner and great customer service
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working under pressure
