We have a rare opportunity available with an independent, local law firm who are seeking a Legal Administrator to join their established team.

JOB TITLE: Legal Administrator (Fixed Term Contract)

LOCATION: Totnes

HOURS: Flexible dependant on the candidate. Minimum 25 hours up to 35 hours Full Time

SALARY: Dependent on experience

THE ROLE: You will provide administrative support across the

business assisting the Head of Department and partners, and will be on hand to

assist with a wide variety of tasks to ensure the smooth running of the office.

Responsibilities might include:

  • Providing admin support to the partner and team
  • Identifying and dealing with file closing and archiving where necessary
  • Assisting and liaising with the fee earner, advising on time or financial balances and any outstanding work
  • Ensuring client records and files are up to date
  • Liaising with clients and dealing with client enquiries and communications
  • Manage the collation of matter start and matter completion data
  • Co-ordination and management of the key dates calendar system
  • Responding to all emails within specified time period set
  • Attending meetings where required and actioning tasks set
  • Filing and archiving
  • Booking client appointments and arranging meetings
  • Management of team diary and appointments
  • Answering the phones
  • General ad hoc admin tasks as directed

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

  • An understanding of general legal processes and file management
  • Good IT skills, including: typing, word processing and general MD Office skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Someone who is confident at managing multiple tasks at one time
  • Someone who can demonstrate a flexible and can-do approach to work
  • A professional and polite telephone manner
  • A team player with a positive attitude
