Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Hairdressing at our Brighton campus. You will join us on a part time, permanent basisand in return, we will offer a competitive salary of pro rata of £26,189 - £40,839 per annum (i.e. £20,951.20 - £32,671.20).

The Lecturer in Hairdressing role:

Are you an experienced and passionate hairdressing professional looking to inspire the next generation? Brighton MET College is seeking a Lecturer in Hairdressing to join our fantastic team and help shape our students’ future careers in this exciting industry.

As a Lecturer in Hairdressing, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning to our engaged students. Your expertise and enthusiasm will ignite their passion for the hairdressing sector, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to excel. You will have creative and innovative ideas to ensure teaching, learning, and assessment is at a very high standard. Our classes combine an exciting commercial salon environment with theory classes.

Key Responsibilities of ourLecturer in Hairdressing:

  • Undertaking teaching and learning related activities, including tutoring, as agreed.
  • Ensuring that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
  • Undertaking administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
  • Taking an active role in the achievement of high individual student retention and success rates, meeting or surpassing the relevant targets for each.
  • Developing curricula and learning activities, taking into consideration literacy and numeracy development, and equality and diversity.
  • Understanding personal responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding.
  • Keeping up-to-date with current issues, changes, and policies relating to the educational sector.
  • Participating in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.

Our ideal Lecturer in Hairdressing should have the below skills and experience:

  • Level 3 (or equivalent) in related subject
  • Relevant industrial/commercial/subject experience
  • Working knowledge of Hairdressing programme
  • An understanding of safeguarding vulnerable groups
  • The ability to work alone and as part of a team with interpersonal skills
