Horizon Teachers are working with a vibrant and inclusive Secondary School nestled in the Heart of Hillingdon, that is committed to providing an excellent educational experience for their students. As part of their dedication to student success, they are seeking a passionate Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join the team.

As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the educational and personal development of students within the school's community. Working closely with teaching staff and other support professionals, you will provide tailored assistance to students who require additional support, ensuring they have the resources and guidance necessary to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with special educational needs (SEN) or English as an Additional Language (EAL).
  • Assist in the implementation of EHCPs and behavior management strategies, as directed by the SENCO and teaching staff.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson plans and materials to meet the needs of individual students, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, acting as a mentor and advocate to promote their social and emotional well-being.


Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Psychology, or a related field
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of young people, with a patient and empathetic approach.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational or support capacity.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the varying needs of students and the school community.
