Learning Mentor

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to join our vibrant primary school team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and social development of our pupils, working closely with teachers and parents to help students overcome barriers to learning.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide one-to-one support and group sessions for pupils who require additional help.
  • Work with teachers to identify pupils who need extra support and develop strategies to aid their learning.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
  • Monitor and track the progress of pupils, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support pupils with emotional, social, and behavioural challenges, promoting positive behaviour.
  • Facilitate communication between pupils, teachers, and parents.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in a mentoring, coaching, or teaching role within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by young learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with pupils, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive, encouraging attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo this check).
