The Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead structural engineering activities within multi-discipline EPCM projects for the chemical and petrochemical industry.
  • Support the procurement team in translating detailed structural steel design packages into procurement packages.
  • Liaise with client engineering team to develop packages of work.
  • Undertake technical bid evaluations from steel work fabricators.
  • Work with steelwork fabricators to develop technical queries to the client & Principal Design Engineer.
  • Represent the business in meetings with stakeholders.
  • Carry out supplier quality audits at selected steel work fabrication shops.
  • Responsible for ensuring the overall quality & accuracy of the steel work erection programme on site.

Required experience & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working in a structural engineering role.
  • Good knowledge of project engineering and site interfaces.
  • HND / BSc / BEng / MSc in Mechanical, Civil or Structural engineering.
  • Ability to lead on multiple packages of work.
  • Result oriented, you will take personal accountability for results and monitor performance against project delivery objectives and UK/European Standards & Regulations.
  • Able to collaborate successfully with others in pursuit of business goals, adapting quickly to different styles and roles and encouraging others to contribute.
  • Able to identify any impact to the project delivery objectives and apply change management accordingly.
  • Strive to continuous improvement, generating new ideas for improving performance.
  • Leading on safety with ability to author and approve RAMS.
