Lead Engineer

We are seeking a Lead Engineer with a strong background in design and development, ideally within the automotive industry. Reporting to a Chief Engineer, you will be instrumental in working on current and future brake products, ensuring that all work aligns with the specifications and timelines set by the Chief Engineer and Project Manager.
Day to Day of the role:- Complete work in line with agreed project schedules, delivering cost-effective solutions.
- Maintain strong liaison with both internal and external suppliers and customers.
- Work across a variety of projects and activities simultaneously.
- Champion innovative and efficient methods of test and validation.
- Conduct design activities including CAD, FMEA, calculations, and tolerance layouts.
- Perform development test activities including test specification and DVP&R.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.
- Participate in technical design reviews and support Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) activities.
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of five years of experience in design, development, and/or project engineering, preferably in an automotive environment.
- Working knowledge of CAD, preferably Pro-Engineer Creo 2.
- Practical experience in test methodology and test procedures.
- Understanding of manufacturing methods and processes.
- Knowledge of complex mechanisms and structures.
- Familiarity with materials, stress/strain theory, and FE Analysis.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and report writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Knowledge of a foreign language is advantageous but not essential.
