Overview As a Lead Developer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of the company. You’ll lead software and application development projects, ensuring high-quality code, adherence to best practices, and effective system architecture. Your expertise will drive the success of our cloud-based application for a Software product house. ??

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership across all aspects of the agile development process. Mentor and guide the development team, emphasizing coding standards, system design, and implementation. Please note there is a Development manager so you will focus on steering the technical direction or the team with no line manager responsibilities. ?????
  • Coding Excellence: Demonstrate what “good” looks like in terms of coding standards. Lead by example, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to best practices. �?
  • Scalable Application Development: Leverage your seasoned development experience to build scalable applications. You’ll be responsible for leading development strategy and making architectural decisions. ??
  • Problem Solving: Tackle challenges head-on. Present innovative solutions to technical problems, backed by sound reasoning. ??
  • Top Skills: Proficiency in C#, .NET Core/.NET standards, SQL Server (including complex queries), and React (as it’s a core component of our new product). Experience with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps. ??
  • Coding Standards: Advocate for good coding practices, including unit testing (XUnit) and maintaining high-quality code. ?
  • Cloud Experience: While AWS experience is preferred, familiarity with other cloud solutions (e.g., Azure, GCP) is acceptable due to similar paradigms. ??
  • Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional teams, share ideas, and contribute to technical discussions. ??
  • Personality Traits: Driven, proactive, motivated, and able to foster an engaging team environment. �?

Interview Process

  1. Initial Stage: Meet with the line manager and team members to discuss background, style, and general experience. ???
  2. Second Stage: Engage with the tech and product director. Present your vision for building a strong tech team, plans for the first 6 months, and strategies for driving high standards. ??
