We are looking for an experienced Lead Buyer to join an established manufacturing company based in Nottinghamshire.

As a Lead Buyer, the successful candidate will develop and pursue purchasing opportunities and negotiate contracts.

Duties of a Lead Buyer include:

  • Prepare proposals, request quotes and negotiate purchase terms and conditions
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns
  • Analyse industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies
  • To positively impact the company's KPIs with particular focus on EBIT
  • To establish and support long-term supplier relationships to maximise supply chain effectiveness

Qualifications and skills required:

  • CIPS Qualified (Essential)
  • Strong Team player
  • Good knowledge of all MS Office applications, specifically Excel to an advanced level
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Confident and well organised
  • Proactive and able to multitask.
  • Drive and determination to succeed.
  • Strong and confident communication and customer liaison skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure.
  • Excellent time management skills, methodical worker with high level attention to details.

Salary up to £40k

Working Monday - Thursday 7.00 am - 16.00 pm & Fri 7.00 am - 12.00 pm
