A new and exciting position for a Laboratory Technician with a strong background in Chemistry has become available for one of the UKs biggest biotech companies, based in Harwell, near Didcot (OX11).

This is a temporary role initially, which should lead to a permanent position in the future, working 8am-4pm Monday to Friday, offering excellent opportunities for development and progression in a growing area of scientific discovery.

The Laboratory technician will join the expanding Oligonucleotide department, joining a specialist team involved in the synthesis and purification of a wide range of DNA and RNA Oligonucleotides.

The role is heavily laboratory based and will involve running and monitoring machines performing automated synthesis of reagents as well as preparing HPLC-MS analysis.

The Laboratory Technician will also be responsible for monitoring stock levels of chemicals and other equipment and make sure that reagents are ordered to arrive in a timely manner so as not to cause any delays in the work.

We expect the successful applicant to have a Chemistry degree and ideally 1 or 2 years experience in industry since there degree or perhaps a year in industry as part of their degree, however consideration will be given to super enthusiastic recent graduates looking for their first role in science.

This role will suit someone who is quality and process driven, responsive to customer needs and who can take a positive approach and work to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing environment.
