I am recruiting for a creative Knitwear Designer in Leicester! My client is a leading knitwear and jersey specialist, they are now seeking a dynamic Knitwear Designer to join their innovative team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in creating bespoke, high-quality designs from concept to delivery for iconic online & high street brands.

Main Responsibilities:

*Lead all design aspects for assigned accounts, from initial research to yarn sourcing and sample development.
*Collaborate with knitting technicians and makeup teams to ensure timely and commercial sample creation.
*Conduct online research and inspirational shopping trips for market insights.
*Create detailed design specs for product development with overseas factories.
*Design and knit range samples aligned with the latest trends for customer presentations.
*Source yarns, liaise with suppliers for trims, and attend yarn fairs for trend scouting.
*Compile insightful reports from trade shows/exhibitions for team and customer feedback.

Person Specifications:

*Highly motivated and creative with 2+ years of commercial knitwear experience.
*Strong communicator with internal teams, retail clients, and offshore factories.
*Methodical, well-organised, and deadline-oriented.
*Keen eye for detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
*CAD literate (proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator).
*Ability to design in all gauges with extensive yarn and garment construction knowledge.
