Junior Estimator - Groundworks

Groundwork. is a leading groundworks company based in Chelmsford, Essex, specialising in delivering high-quality services to our clients. They are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Junior Estimator.

Role Overview: As a Junior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our project planning and execution process. You will work closely with our senior estimators and project managers to prepare accurate and competitive bids for groundworks projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career growth and development within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse project specifications and drawings to determine materials, labour, and equipment requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for groundworks projects.
  • Assist in the review and negotiation of contracts.
  • Maintain accurate records of project costs and expenses.
  • Support project managers in the planning and scheduling of work activities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in a similar estimating role.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary Range: £26,000 - £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
