Job Profile

The requirement for a Junior Accounts/Finance Assistant has arisen through continued growth, expansion and demand in both customer base and orders.

The role will suit someone who enjoys working in a friendly and professional environment and who is able to manage multiple tasks at once, with a strong attention to detail, as well as an ability to react positively to set monthly objectives.

This role is office based and as such the successful candidate must be prepared and able to travel into Stevenage.

Primary responsibilities

  • Support the finance team across all key areas of the purchasing function.
  • Purchase ledger & statement reconciliation.
  • Purchase order queries.
  • Payment runs.
  • Other various duties as required by the business.

Skill/Experience

  • If you are currently studying towards an AAT/ACCA it would be desirable, but not essential.
  • An exceptionally high degree of numeracy and attention to detail.
  • Experienced and confident using accounts software such as SAGE or similar is ideal, but no essential.
  • A good communicator, skilled at getting information from a range of sources and departments.
  • Computer literate and confident in the use of the Microsoft Office package.
  • Intermediate level Excel skills to a confident degree.
  • A team player, able to foster excellent relationships at all levels.
  • A self-starter, willing to go the extra mile.
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise a workload.
  • Polite and professional phone manner.
  • Possess flexibility and ability to effectively perform multiple functions at a time.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.

Hours:

Monday - Friday / bespoke working hours to suit the company and yourself.

Salary: £24,000 - £30,000 per year (depending upon experience and qualifications)
