We are seeking a dynamic and strategic finance executive to join our client's team in Milton Keynes. As the CFO, you will work closely with experienced heads of department, establishing trusted relationships and leading change with empathy. This role encompasses several key responsibilities during the maternity cover period:
Your new role

  • Act as the project sponsor for a significant finance system upgrade, including core accounting, AP automation, and financial planning and analysis tools. The system is scheduled to go live by the end of September 2024.
  • Efficiency Improvements:
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement substantial operating model efficiency improvements across Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams.
  • Strategic Insight:
  • Collaborate with the Board, CEO, and Directors to provide strategic financial and commercial insight, driving the ongoing organizational-wide transformation program.
  • Core Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to enhance the holistic performance of the organisation.
  • Support SLT decisions with sound financial analysis and commercial insights.
  • Oversee financial, legal, and risk & compliance-related activities, working closely with the CEO on governance matters.
  • Lead the Finance, Audit, and Risk Committee of the Board.
  • Provide direction to functional groups (finance, legal & governance, risk & compliance).
  • Handle serious incident reporting to regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with international senior finance colleagues.
  • Manage multi-year and annual budgets, scenario planning, and financial reviews.


What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with substantial post-qualification experience with a demonstrable track record as a strategic finance leader within a medium-sized global organisation. You will have an ability to motivate, influence, and engage diverse teams, and ideally experience or have a keen interest in working within a professional, charity organisation.
