Role Profile

Are you a seasoned Buyer with experience in manufacturing/engineering, currently available to undertake a contract in the Warrington area?!

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a thriving manufacturing/engineering business, playing your part within their busy Purchasing team.

Due to long term leave, the team require a helping hand with a number of procurement projects across several sites in the UK.

The contract is likely to run between 3 and 6 months and there is also real potential for a further extension beyond this initial term, depending on business / team circumstances.

What will the role involve?

• Purchasing consumables, MRO items and component parts for a number of manufacturing/engineering sites
• Sourcing suitable suppliers and negotiating prices
• Identifying new supply sources and agreeing contracts / long term supply agreements
• Converting purchase requisitions and raising purchase orders on the system
• Expediting deliveries with suppliers to ensure orders are delivered on time and in full
• Identifying opportunities for cost savings and driving cost reduction initiatives

Ideal skills and experience

• Previous experience in a procurement role
• Exposure to purchasing for manufacturing / engineering, ideally sourcing MRO items / consumables / component parts
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Good systems skills and attention to detail
• Strong negotiation skills

Remuneration

£30,000 - £35,000 (equivalent hourly rate depending on experience)
