Interim Accountant - Academy Trust

RM Recruit are seeking an experienced Technical/Financial Accounting focused interim to work with a sizable Birmingham based Multi Academy Trust. This role will have a duration of 3 - 6 months and the Trust are seeking project minded accounting professionals who have ideally worked in a Multi Academy Trust setting previously.

The remit of the role will include, but not be limited to:

• Month and year end processes within the Trust in line with the organisation’s deadlines, including VAT claims and monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring all accrual and prepayments are made in line with financial procedures.
• Preparing revenue and capital budgets, cashflow forecasts and budgeted balance sheets
• Investigate and report on significant budgetary variances, identifying any remedial action
• Funds analysis and advise the Board on the Trust’s current reserves position making recommendations about investments, capital projects and contingencies.
• Preparation of monthly financial management information, analysis and advice to budget holders in line with Trust requirements and timescales.
• Production of rolling forecasts on a monthly basis for management review.
• Hold responsibility for the Trust’s asset disposal register, gifts register and restricted grants schedule.
• Maintenance of the fixed assets register
• Delivery of financial records for the auditors and returns required by ESFA.

This role will operate on a hybrid working model with 2 days per week required on-site and 3 working from home. The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with a background in similar roles.
