Are you looking to join one of the leading food businesses in the Uk with fantastic career opportunities. 

Our client is looking for an Ingredients Buyer who will focus on process improvement, category optimisation, and delivering against department and individual targets. 

Your Key Focuses will be: 

  • Maintaining and establishing relationships with key suppliers. 
  • Setting up contracts, agreeing terms with suppliers, negotiating prices. 
  • Market, spend, contract and market analysis for the ingredients category.
  • Source new ingredients and suppliers where required ensuring compliance legislation and standards are met.
  • Must have a good understanding of raw material markets through the supply chain of the ingredients procured and how they will impact the business.
  • Work closely with suppliers and identify supply issues to ensure continuous supply.
  • Results focused able to deliver against targets and deadlines

The ideal Ingredients Buyer will have:

  • 2 Years similar experience.
  • CIPS or working towards. 
  • Good Analytical and Reporting Skills.
  • Able to identify market and future market trends. 
  • Raw ingredients / Commodity Markets - advantageous.
  • Contract management and SRM experience.
  • Confidence and presentation skills.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and strict deadlines.
  • Negotiation skills and tendering skills.
  • Risk management experience desired.
