Independent Reviewing Officer - Swindon Borough Council
We are looking to recruit a Child Protection Chair / Independent Reviewing Officer with the Social Care industry in Swindon Borough Council. The Child Protection Chair / Independent Reviewing Officer team vacancy in Swindon Borough Council will be for an initial 3-6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstance and your performance.
Responsibilities include:
- Chairing looked after children and young people's reviews
- Ensuring the Care Plan is SMART and being delivered.
- Quality assurance, monitoring and auditing role.
- Someone who will actively work to improve and maintain the quality of care for all our children and young people.
- Someone who can apply strong and up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, research and Government policies in their work.
- Someone who has the skills to involve the children and young people in their Reviews and Care Planning, as well as involving the carers, professional network and their parents and family members.
- Chairing complex multi-agency procedures
- Chairing LAC reviews or Child Protection conferences
- Safeguarding for Children & Young People
- Liaising with other professionals
- Knowledge of relevant legislation
Minimum Requirements:
- 1 year experience in a similar role within the UK
- Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Social Work Degree
