Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a HR Manager for our client a local government based in Portsmouth.

The successful candidate will provide a full range of HR and Organisational Development functions to the organisation's employees and a range of external clients.

With a strong HR background and a broad understanding of the organisation and its services, you will use your influencing skills to achieve the right outcomes for service departments.

Work with services to help them diagnose issues and enable them to focus on outcomes, brokering the necessary support to achieve these. You will also help them to navigate what might be complex employee relations matters dealing personally with these where required.

This is a 2 month starting contract with the possibility for extensions. Hybrid working available.

A candidate needs to demonstrate:

  • A clear understanding of the HR Manager role and the importance of relationship building / management and the potential to develop these skills at the highest level.
  • An understanding of the principles of change management and how these can be applied to achieve successful outcomes, with evidence of having done so at an operational level.
  • Have a relevant HR qualification and be a member of the CIPD.
  • That you have credibility as an HR professional, with experience of working at a Managerial HR level, with the ability to quickly attain the trust and confidence of others and work effectively as a team player.
  • That you have extensive experience and knowledge of HR practice and employment law and have a track record of having worked successfully with trade unions.
  • That you possess negotiation skills with the ability to effectively influence your audience to a positive outcome.
  • That you have a solid business & financial understanding that will allow you to function at any level, bringing value to the decision making process.
  • That you can build relationships across HR and the wider organisation that will ensure a wide understanding of the needs of the business and available solutions.
  • That you have a self-belief that inspires others around you in the value of HR and the value that you and HR can bring in driving effective business results.
  • That you have a broad set of Consultancy skills that are solution focused including expert net-worker, a strategic thinker.

Working Hours: 09:00am - 17:00pm, Monday - Friday

Pay: £26.00 p/h

Please note this role is within the scope of IR35.
