We are seeking to a HR Welfare and Compliance Officer to join our client.  This role would suit someone from a HR or compliance background.

This role is based in Norwich and Ely and you would be expected to work at both sites.

This role offers a salary of up to £35k with a £350 a month car allowance.

You would be reporting into the Head of HR working for a busy and successful team.

You will be the main point of contact for seasonal worker scheme, completing all administrative and compliance tasks relating to the seasonal workforce., you will ensure our operations adhere to the Home Office Seasonal Worker Scheme compliance requirements and all obligations are met, reducing risks and ensuring the welfare of our seasonal workers is a priority.

Ideally you will have an additional language and Turkish or Russian is preferred although not essential.

  • To take ownership of all clerical and administrative tasks relating to the seasonal worker scheme including management of scheme provider’s portals- e.g Sabre.
  • To assist with labour planning when required, managing returnee database.
  • To communicate arrivals and leavers to site teams, liaising with scheme operators for updates.
  • To complete employee lifecycle tasks relating to seasonal workforce- sending all onboarding and offboarding documents to seasonal workforce, ensuring completion before travel.
  • To ensure seasonal workforce receive a full induction and relevant paperwork is completed.
  • To open bank accounts for seasonal workers when requested.
  • To complete NINO applications for new arrivals.
  • To manage seasonal worker data on HRIS, ensuring accuracy.
  • To submit payroll reports to the finance team fortnightly for the seasonal workforce.
  • To be the welfare contact for the seasonal worker scheme, investigating, recording and remedying any complaints.
  • To support operational teams with performance management processes.
  • To attend seasonal worker taskforce webinars as organised by stronger together, the association of labour providers or any other relevant organisation, to stay up to date with changes or challenges with the scheme.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               
  • Ensure workers have access to medical facilities as and when they need it and establishing local links.
  • Taking staff to A&E, and appointments when necessary.
  • Organising social events for our seasonal workers.
  • To be an employee voice representative, actively seeking feedback from employees to improve working experience.
  • To support Head of HR on SWS labour provider audits.
  • To perform compliance checks relating to forced labour.
  • To analyse information received from offboarding surveys and work with operational teams to improve employee experience.
  • Ensure notices are up to date in canteens and in relevant languages.
  • To audit our scheme operators.
  • To complete weekly checks of our third-party accommodation site. Visiting frequently and communicating leavers and arrivals to the providers.
