Housing Benefits Overpayments Officer Vacancy

Venn Group are looking to recruit for an experienced Housing Benefits Overpayment Officer to work for a Local Authority based in the Midlands

Position: Housing Benefits Overpayments Officer

Location: Remote

Rate: £23 - £27 Umbrella

Hours: 37 hours

Contract: 3 months

System: Academy

The role will predominantly involve:

  • Giving advise on housing benefit overpayments
  • Communicating with customers, landlords and other departments regarding any overpayment
  • Explaining how an overpayment has arisen
  • Dealing with arrears
  • Dealing confidently with customers verbally and in writing, obtaining full payment, or making payment arrangements where appropriate
  • Progressing overpayment recovery using the most appropriate method with regard the circumstances of the customer
  • Carrying out pro-active debt chasing
  • Dealing promptly with recovery stage defaults and exceptions and take appropriate action

The successful candidate must have a good working knowledge of Housing Benefits and must have the ability to accurately record actions taken.
