This is a key role linking the hotel financial management to HO finance. You will be managing risks as well as producing reports to enable effective running of the finance function within the hotel.

The role will be in charge of 3 hotels spread out between England and Wales - Don't have to regularly travel.

This role will report to the hotel GM and HO financial controller.

Responsibilities

This role is a very hands on postion, with you needing to be direclty involved in all tasks suc has prepartion of Managemetn Accounts 'from scratch'. As well as:

  • Implement and maintain acceptable accounting practices as required and in accordance with company policy and procedures
  • Develop and implement financial control procedures and systems to minimise risk; maintain records for internal and external audits; ensure compliance with government regulations and contractual agreements
  • Timely monitoring of cost vs budget/ forecast within the hotel
  • Manage hotel contracts (example: vendor leases and/or service contracts)
  • Ensure that all daily/ weekly and monthly finance deadlines, tasks and processes have been complied with (i.e. daily revenue reports and uploads, cash and credit card reconciliations)
  • Monitoring all hotel ledgers to minimize risk of bad debt
  • Prepare complete management accounts pack for hotel including balance sheet reconciliations. Variance analysis to identify cost saving and productivity opportunities for department heads
  • Completion of payroll report and manage its cost base as well as posting the payroll journal.
  • Manage the production of weekly F&B flash reports

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in hotel accounting
  • Cloud based accounting experience preferential; SAGE and FOURTH
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance preferred.
  • Ability to challenge Heads of department when required
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent people management and leadership skills
  • Flexible and results driven
