LTF Recruitment are working with a wonderful school in Havering, who are looking for a competent Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school are looking for a HLTA on a long-term basis with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The role will be full time, working Monday-Friday within class.
In this role, your key responsibilities will be based in and around the classroom, supporting the class teacher. This will include making sure correct behaviour is adhered to at all times, working with small groups and 1:1 interventions. A sound knowledge of the curriculum will be needed, as well as a good knowledge of strategies to best support SEN children. You will also be required to cover classes during PPA time or in a teachers absence.
The school are looking for a candidate who:
- Has the relevant degree or TA qualification
- Has 1 years' experience within an education setting
- Understands various SEN needs
- Experience working 1:1
- Has a sound working knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Can effectively build relationships with children quickly.
