Highways Operations Supervisor
Multi Trades Recruitment are working on behalf of a national highways company who are seeking an Operation Supervisor within their Highways Maintenance department for work across the Lincolnshire area.
About The Job
You will be responsible for the safe and profitable delivery of all types of reactive / emergency works whilst ensuring that sufficient operational resources are available to achieve optimum productivity and contractual response times.
Provide leadership and support to the reactive delivery crews
Duties will include:
Planning and Allocation of works:
• Detailed validation of incoming works to include an assessment of information to complete the works and specialist materials or plant requirements
• Promoting and developing the end to end planning and delivery process
• Interfacing with other revenue Supervisors and construction teams to maximise opportunities for resource sharing
• Acting as a focal point for operations decision making project specific routine maintenance activities:
• Site visits and liaison with clients
• Management of Labour, Plant and Material resources
• Dealing with incoming emergency situations, through effective and efficient communication with
operational teams
• Dealing with adverse weather situations such as snow and flooding to ensure that the resources are
allocated correctly.
Performance Management
• Productivity reporting and providing information to support managing outputs
• Provision of mitigations to Performance Manager to support monthly operations reporting
• Focus on driving improved performance on daily basis
• Supports and contributes to continuous improvement
• People management responsibilities, identifying emerging talent and ensuring succession planning is
robust
Financial and Commercial
• Supporting commercial team.
• Identifying, agreeing and recording change
Supply Chain:
• Allocation of works to subcontractors
• Monitoring/management of works planned and completed by subcontractors
Client:
• Resolution of queries relating to planned and completed works
• Reporting of information as required by the client team
General:
• Compliance with BBLP systems and procedures and development of a positive safety culture within
direct reports and supply chain
• Supporting the delivery of winter service provision
• Deputise for Scheduler to cover periods of absence
Mon to Fri
On site
£40,000 - £50,000 negotiable depending on experience
6 month rolling contract with a view to becoming permanent
About You
We are seeking someone who posses the following attributes:
• Experience of working on a Highways Maintenance Contract
• Understanding of emergency and winter service operations
• Good level of Business acumen
• Good interpersonal skills: communication, can provide clear direction,
• Excellent organisational skills
• Adaptable to changing situations
• Teamwork
• Root cause problem solving
• Commercial Awareness
• Understanding of works programming
• Use of IT systems; specifically confirm and excel
