Working for an innovative logistics and transport business based in Ashbourne. This owner-managed business are renowned specialists within their industry.

This is a brand-new role created due to substantial growth and is integral to the future success of transport operations within the business.

As the HGV Mechanic you will work closely with the Workshop Manager to manage a growing fleet of 40+ wagons by providing routine maintenance, repairs, servicing, and MOT inspections in line with VOSA standards.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

• Perform service, inspection, maintenance and repair across a fleet of 40+ HGVs.
• Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes and tyre rotation.
• Undertake MOT inspections within a timely manner for all HGV vehicles on site.
• Performing minor and major repairs to HGVs as required.
• Carry out welding, fabrication and body repairs as required.
• Carry out periodic safety inspections and completing regular documentation for all HGV vehicles to VOSA inspection manual standards.
• Maintaining accurate records of vehicle maintenance .
• To assist the Workshop Manager to help control fleet maintenance costs within budgetary requirements.

What we need from you?

• Previous experience in the service, inspection, MOT, fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance of HGVs.
• Ability to write concise and clear reports of work carried out and parts used.
