Health Litigation Associate

The firm acts as trusted advisors to a diverse clientele across specialized sectors such as transport, logistics, international trade, retail, insurance, marine, health, education, manufacturing, public sector, banking, and financial services.

Role Overview

• The Health Litigation team specializes in clinical negligence claims for NHS Resolution (formerly NHS Litigation Authority), NHS Trusts, and other defendant clinical negligence clients.
• Additionally, the award-winning Health team has received significant recognition, including being named Legal Services Provider of the Year by the Health Service Journal.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing a caseload of clinical negligence files, including:
• Drafting reports for insurer clients and NHS Resolution
• Conducting witness interviews
• Preparing witness statements
• Engaging experts
• Instructing counsel
• Attending court proceedings and negotiations
• Conducting conferences with Counsel
• Preparing for and attending trials and mediations

Additional Duties:

• Providing cover for secondments
• Assisting colleagues with higher value claims
• Drafting articles for clients
• Delivering client training and presentations

What We Seek:

• Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales
• Experience in defendant clinical negligence at a firm handling medical malpractice cases for insurer clients
• Understanding of clients’ needs and expectations
• Adherence to guidelines, client protocols, and KPIs
• Proactive and pragmatic approach with an emphasis on quality
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
